Damian Lazarus
Record label owner, producer, & DJ. Damian is driven by an almost childlike curiosity, a vivid imagination and a wicked sense of humour. He used his role as a DJ, label owner and now musician to nurture and share the most exciting and experimental music on the planet. Drawn to the darkness, but buoyed by the light, ever ready to embrace new ideas and different perspectives on music and the dance floor. Lazarus is always ahead of the curve, with a wry smile on his face and neat trick up his sleeve. How many DJ's do you know who've played 'Reviewing The Situation' (from the 'Oliver' soundtrack, no less) half speed to a jubliant crowd at DC 10 in Ibiza. How many DJ's do you know who received a sitting ovation on the dance floor? We welcome Damian back to Leeds
Clive Henry
Clive is one of the UK’s longest standing flag-wavers for underground house music having been an original member of the West London house mafia, one half of the genre-defining tech house outfit Peace Division and resident at the world’s most musically influential nightclub DC10.
Now part of the Crosstown rebels family 2010 promises to be an eventful one for Clive with his solo production path beginning to take shape and collaborations in the pipeline with good friends Jamie Jones and Dyed Soundorom. In addition, his new Rebel Rave mix compilation for Crosstown Rebels will be hitting the stores this August.
It's been five years since Damian played alongside Clive Henry in Leeds. We expect nothing less than magic from this forthcoming Circoloco event!
Simon Baker
Simon Baker stands apart from his peers, a U.K artist that knows his own style and generates his own musical footprint. Pioneering labels clamber for his tracks, each creating a fresh storm and the world of his dextrous musical style has spread to the far reaches of the globe as he tours the continents relentlessly. Not one but two of Baker's productions made it into i Tunes best Of Year charts in 2009 and 2010. Leads up to the release of his debut artist album, expected for release this year on his home label 20 20 Vision.
"A true British electronic pioneer in the making, and outstanding DJ to Boot" - Resident Advisor.
Adam Shelton
Adam Shelton champions music that is true to itself, and sounds crafted only for the best of times. Known to many as one of the U.K's strongest resident DJ's, Adam has spent the last decade quietly sketching out his own definition of authenticity.
An avid vinyl collector himself, Adam has recently launched One Records alongside Subb_an, friend and rsident of adam's own night, Below. The label aims to encapsulate the energy and dexterity of artists and crowds that the party has connected with most, and doing exactly that their first release 'The Musik EP' brought two deep and off-kilter acid tracks, with praise from DJ Mag, radio 1 and Germany's DE:Bug magazine, amongst others.
Subb_an
As resident and co-promoter at Below in Birmingham, one of the most respected bastions of House in th U.K, Subb_an has continued to grow as an artist. He regularly plays alongside the likes os Jamie Jones, Anja Schneider, Cliv Henry, Dyed Soundorom ans Wolf + Lamb to name a few.
Release on labels such as Leftroom, B-Pitch Control, Immigrant Records and his own newly founded, One records UK have led to the likes of Laurent Garnier, Richie Hawtin, and Luciano championing his music persistently. Subb_an's first release on One records has received rave reviews in Mixmag, IDJ, DE:Bug Magazine and Resident Advisor as well as airplays on Radio 1.
Buckley
Back in the early 90's Buckley was resident for some of the most seminal nights in musical history, including Manchester’s legendary Hacienda and Renaissance in Nottingham, where he played the first ever records on the opening night. Now a firm favourite at Basics he has been a guest at almost every credible club throughout the world and has established himself as a key player on the scene. These days Buckley’s experience, versatility and skills shine consistently and although he has an expansive knowledge of many styles his focus, when DJing, producing or remixing is on quality house music.
Andy Whittaker
Andy is the back bone of 20 20 Vision and Redux record labels. His taste and ear of underground dance music is nothing short of remarkable. He has been a resident DJ for Asylum from day one, playing alongside some of his heros whilst gaining their respect at the same time. Recently moved to London, he now helps long standing label R & S finding new talent. Andy is a true bastion of the dance music scene.
Tristan Da Cunha
By the time he was 21 he had a residency at Back to Basics and an A&R position at 20/20 Vision which has lead to him being involved in a wide selection of the best underground music the world over for more than ten years. Tristan continues to play alongside the leading names in dance music and gain respect wherever he graces the decks with his musical agility. Showcasing his talent with regular guest spots at clubs such as Fabric, Below and Berlin’s infamous Panorama Bar as well as gigs in places like Ibiza, Croatia and Austria serve to reinforce his presence on the international scene. His Basics residency and the aforementioned mean that he has played alongside the likes of Francois K, Derrick Carter and 2000 and One to name a few.
Dan Ward aka Negghead
Dan was exposed to an eclectic mix of music from an early age. His mum's love of reggae and soul music, combined with his dad's extensive record library meant Dan was absorbing quality sounds from an early age. It was no surprise then, when DJ EASE from Nightmares On Wax picked up on him to join the label. 'Scrambled Negg' his debut album recently dropped and has been getting rave reviews. Dan currently tours around Europe showcasing his sound with the label.
Dave Beer
