Hercules and The Love Affair: "Blue Songs" Album Tour + May 68 (Kitsune): DATE RESCHEDULEMENT

The Faversham

Saturday 28 May 2011: 10pm doors

£14, advance, MOTD

The Faversham welcomes Hercules and the Love Affair to their intimate setting to celebrate the release of their new album Blue Songs.

Famed for their avant garde live shows, the band is a fusion of artists from eclectic backgrounds all of whom bring different influences and musical styles to the mix. Since the bands first release in 2008 for DFA records they are darlings of Pitchfork, Fact Magazine and the NME, taking the music world by storm with their mismatched style and even wilder musical tastes.

Receiving rave review across the board Blue Songs, is a deeper, less brassy take on the band fuelled by band leaders Andy Butlers obsession with '86-'94 house, loosing non of the tears and mascara diva-ishness of their debut, make sure you don't miss the opportunity to catch them live.

Praise for “Blue Songs”

“Displaying equal understanding of the art of pop music, and pop music as art, Hercules And Love Affair have created an album that actually delivers on the promise of its predecessor..." The Quietus

“A jubilant and celebratory collection of large tunes” BBC Music

“Andy Butler looks like a man who has stepped straight off a sweaty Studio 54 dancefloor after a particularly debauched night in 1979….if H&LA's 2008 debut was an ideal accompaniment to the clubland chaos, then Blue Songs is the gentlest of comedowns” The Independant
